How to measure
Step-by-step guide to measuring your door opening accurately before ordering a custom teak door.
Measure at 3 points: top, middle, and bottom of the opening. Use the narrowest value to ensure the door leaf will fit.
Measure from floor to top threshold at 3 points (left, center, right). Use the shortest value.
Measure the wall thickness at the frame position to choose the right frame depth. Typically 10–20 cm.
Photo the front and side of the opening with a ruler or measuring tape clearly visible.

Common mistakes
The old door may not match the actual opening, especially if the original frame has swollen, warped, or been repaired.
Walls and floors are rarely perfectly plumb. Measuring at three points catches variations of several millimetres.
Wall thickness determines the frame depth. Getting it wrong leaves the frame protruding or too short.
